Algarve Tourism named Trusted Brand

The Algarve Tourism Region has been named a trustworthy brand by the Reader’s Digest in the Tourism Regions section. The category was introduced for the first time this year, and the Algarve won among other national tourist regions. The quality, cost/benefit and the perception of customer needs were the attributes that contributed to the distinction.

Algarve Tourism Region president Desidério Silva welcomed the news, claiming that “Trust is an essential value in the consumer relationship with a tourist destination. Other attributes also contribute to this such as climate, security, diverse supply, good accessibility and hospitality…”.

The Algarve celebrated its best year for tourism in 2015, setting records in terms of hotel bookings, golf rounds played and passengers using Faro Airport.

Besides the Algarve, were also distinguished Abreu agency in the category of Travel Agencies, and the Pestana Group, the new category of Hotels Chains.

The evaluation was done through questionnaires to more than 13,000 subscribers of the magazine’s Portuguese version.
